Yggdrasil Urban Wildlife Rescue gives injured and orphaned wild animals in the San Francisco Bay Area a second chance at life, and teaches people to share their city with wildlife.

Rescue and release
We rehabilitate injured and orphaned urban wildlife and return every animal we can to the wild.
Educate
We visit classrooms and community centers so Bay Area kids can learn compassion for their wild neighbors, and understand why they are worth protecting.
Coexist
We give people humane, step-by-step ways to resolve conflicts with wildlife, so nobody has to call a trapper or an exterminator.
Our mission

Found an injured or orphaned animal?

Four things first, in this order. Then call or text us, any hour.

  1. No food, no water. The wrong food, or food in the airway, kills more rescued babies than the injury did.
  2. Warm. A box with a soft cloth, holes in the lid, half on a heating pad set to low.
  3. Dark and quiet. Away from kids, pets, and voices. Stress alone can kill.
  4. Hands off. Gloves or a towel, always. Raccoons, skunks, bats, foxes: never bare skin.
